Teemu Pukki Celtic Failure Reason is Out Now

Teemu Pukki has been witnessing a huge support recently after his stellar performance in 3 Premier Leagues matches for Norwich. He scored five goals in these matches. But things went completely abnormal when Teemu Pukki turned out to be a flop in the Celtic. Teemu has finally revealed the reason about his failure to perform well with the Scottish champions. Many Premier League fans are familiar with the goal scoring capacity of Teemu Pukki because his performance was tremendous in last season. He scored 30 goals for his team in the last season due to which they got heavy support and publicity from football fans all across the world.

The career of Pukki began in the year 2006 with Finnish side and he has been performing consistently to move his ranks up. But he would spend most of his time in Spain playing for their reserve side Sevilla Atletico and returned to Finland in 2010 with HJK Helsinki. It was during the 2010/11 season that his first spark of his striker capability was seen when he scored 11 goals and provided 8 assists in just 13 league starts.

His impressive form saw him join Schalke the following season after he scored thrice in two games against them in the Europa League qualifiers. But Pukki was not successful in replicating the same form for the German side because he was able to score just 8 times in the next two seasons.

In September 2013, Teemu Pukki joined Celtic for an undisclosed amount and he signed a 4 year agreement with the Scottish champions. It all started good as he scored against Hearts on his debut match before doing the same on his home debut against St Johnstone. But then things went downhill for the Finn and he would leave for Brondby the following season after scoring 9 times in a total of 37 appearances for the Hoops.

It is at the Danish club that Pukki would finally find the consistency that he hadn’t in his entire career till then. Spending four full seasons at Brondby, he scored 71 goals for the club based on the outskirts of Copenhagen. It is in 2018/19 that he joined Norwich and carried them to the EFL Championship, winning the EFL Championship Player of the Year in the process.

But now, Teemu Pukki, the Norwich star has revealed about the reason due to which he failed to succeed at Celtic Park. While talking with with Chris Sutton for the Daily Mail, Teemu said:

“I got the call, ‘Celtic want you’. And I knew Celtic were a top, top team. I thought it would be much easier than it was. It was quicker than I thought. When you got the ball, there was always a defender at you.”

It will not be completely wrong to say that Pukki is not the same player that he was in 2013 and there is not much about the Scottish Premiership that would shock him today. Just remember the next time you see him destroying Premier League teams, it took him multiple failures to become the success that he is today.
